Deviations of Sanity

This redesign was more than essential, yet every week someone would tell me how they liked some aspect of the previous design. Sorry, people, but it wasn’t representative anymore. And it was hard to work with. As we speak, some stuff isn’t yet done. Yet.

The logo

Well, besides being something that just struck me, I personally kinda like the idea of laid back browsing, just going where one wants, reading what one wants. As someone rightfully pointed out recently, the sharp Z in the back isn’t quite as laid back as one’d like, but he’s laid back, and that’s what counts.

Liquid eh?

Well, I admit, he was stronger than I am. So I caved in. Liquid is here, and it feels like it’s here to stay.

It’s a hard nut to crack in the beginning, but with some concertina padding love, it all fits.

Structure

Some changes have been made. About-page is completely rewritten, for one. I also have an hCard now. Also, it’s featuring more silliness and truths you don’t want to know. I’ve made a start at getting everything ordered neatly, though that will take a while to get done. Hire me page is up as we speak, for those interested.

Anything I forgot?

Yeah, probably. I need to do the styling for TABLEs, DLs and some small stuff I have yet to come across. However, it’s mostly done now. But that doesn’t mean you can’t suggest anything. Please do, I’m open for anything.

Say hello to my new friend

After some weeks of work (and uncountable weeks of doodling and jotting down), it’s here. My redesign. Named Deviations of Sanity, I created my first liquid layout and my first real logo.

Now, I’m currently trying to fix the mistakes and do some styling for stuff I forgot. Also, Mathias, the plugin did not work.

Des questions

A’ight, no April Fool’s Day jokes from me. Also, no redesign just yet. But I do have some questions.

I am asking these because I want this to be a good user experience. I can’t do it without answers, and I don’t want complaints either, so speak now or forev—you get my point. Of course, only concerning things that are asked right here. Anything else support-related is more than welcome.

So. First of all a structural quandry. Mathias tells me I should do comment permalinks depending on the page. So uri#cmt-12 points to comment number twelve on that post. I currently use the unique comment id in the database, so that comment URI sounds like uri#cmt-937. I’d like to hear all pros and cons on that, please.

Second. Archive setup. This might be something for you WordPress knowledgables, but how should I display my archives? Do steer me, I am not sure yet.

Third, give me a wishlist. Any functionality you’d like to see on this very weblog?
