Rest and peace (and references)

I’ve had some rest the last couple of days. I needed it, but it’s time to get back to work. I went on a vacation. It was nice. I fell ill, but it’s getting better now.
For you interested, yes, the iPod supported me in all the rest I needed.

One thing I did was rereading J.R.R. Tolkien’s the Hobbit, though I’m not finished yet. It again reigned my mind, and still is capturing me. The story is so damn well written for a childrens book, it’s hard to believe.
But the better part of the writing is in the references. Everywere you look you see references. References to technology, to other stories and to other people. Believe me, even if you don’t like the story itself, you’ll sure be pretty damn interested in reading about the things Tolkien is not telling you. I can get into this and make it a long post, but I’m going to keep this short. When I’ve finished reading the book, I’ll set out some things and I’ll post up my findings. They will probably be about the references. Anomalizing it.

Oh, and I learned this: You can never have too many serif fonts.
Go sleep with that thought.

  1. I really look forward to reading your findings.

  2. Well there ya go then. I’m planning on more, but it may not only be about the Hobbit. I have bigger plans :p
